Interview with Rie fu

We caught up with Rie fu for a short interview, before her first full band live in Singapore this coming Saturday.

Please introduce yourselves to our ROCKSIN readers!

Hi there, I’m Rie(ree-ay) fu, Japanese singer/songwriter/painter and I’ve been living in Singapore since July 2014. I’ve become very much familiar to Singapore as I cycle down to the east coast to have a prawn mee every weekend, feel a reassuring relief when I hear “can, can”, and nowadays I feel cold at even 25 degrees when I travel outside this tropical country!

In 5 words, how will you describe yourself?

creative, cosmopolitan, a challenger, carefree&careless(my pros and cons!)

You have lived in Singapore for a while now, what do you like most about Singapore? Any favourite local food?

My most favourite food would be prawn mee as answered in the first question, I think it’s closest to Japanese dashi(soup)flavour. The weather is so great for relaxing, safe and easy living, I like mostly everything about Singapore!

What can we expect from your upcoming show on the 16th of January 2016?

I will perform EVERY song that I sang for Japanese animations such as Bleach and Gundam Seed Destiny, plus adding new groove through the collaboration with some members from the defunct band Goodfellas for the first time. Please look forward to a fun and exciting atmosphere on the performance day.

Please leave a message for your fans in Singapore.

It’s a been great experience living in Singapore, and would love to give back the joy and happiness through my music. I’m going to be moving away from Singapore this year, so it might be one of the last gigs I play in this country for a while. Excited to share special time with you guys, please come and join the fun!
